Community Gardens

Mission:The community garden seeks to provide fresh, local produce and to create the opportunity for personal development of all involved. We believe this program is vital to meeting the nutritional and social needs of our community.

The produce from the garden will be utilized to support  our existing programs:

  • Free Fresh Produce Outreach Distribution
  • Staples for Seniors
Additional programming is also being developed in conjunction with the garden:
  • Mentoring: The local gardening community and volunteers will work alongside teens assigned to community service by Medina County Juvenile Court. The teens will gain a new perspective of their community and the positive impacts they can make.
  • Cooking Classes: Mark Williams of Williams on the Lake has committed to teaching youth cooking skills using produce from the garden
  • Nutrition Education: Community members will learn the foundations of proper nutrition and the health benefits of produce grown in the garden.
Ways You can Support the Garden:
  • Sponsor a plot: Click here for a sponsor packet.
  • Volunteer in the garden: weeding, planting, harvesting etc.

  • Make a donation towards our garden wish list - We are currently in need of:
  1. Straw to keep the weeds down.
  2. Benches so we can have a nice place to sit.

For more information on sponsoring a plot, please email melody@feedingmedinacounty.org or call (330) 421-4816.
